The most important event, held within World Alzheimer's Month, was annual international scientific conference "Activation of seniors and non-pharmacological approaches to treating Alzheimer's disease" in Bratislava, on September 17-18, 2015. The main organizers of the conference were: Slovak Alzheimer's Society, Centre MEMORY n.o. and the Institute of Neuroimmunology SAS. Doc DVM Norbert Zilka, PhD., from NIU SAS, opened the conference by a introductory lecture "The Dark Side of the Aging - Is there an expiration date of the human brain?" The conference was attended by 200 people from Slovakia, Czech Rebuplic, Norway, Canada, Austria. During the two days of the conference it was said 14 lectures and 5 workshops.
